You are pretty close to the advertised capability of the Ram 1500. A Ram 2500 (around 3,000lbs of payload) would be a much nicer tow vehicle for the size of trailer that you have. However, I have been told that the HDs are much more expensive than the 1500s in Australia. Does the price of the GVM upgrade bring the 1500 more into line with a 2500?

Love all your work and what you do but I’m sorry, the tough dog 4000kg gvm doesn’t still allow you to retain your 4500kg tow capacity. Your actually only left with 3713 if the vehicle is weighing 4T To tow the 4500 your vehicle needs to basically be empty which defeats having the gvm upgrade. Sadly it’s one or the other until someone brings out a gcm upgrade like Lovells but they have not yet done so for these.
